I actually have a bunch of interesting pictures to share with you. Though many people think that my life is more interesting because I live in Korea...after looking at these pictures I think you will quickly see how NORMAL life is here. We are just like any other high school....sort of.
Anyway, I hope that you enjoy getting a feel from ICS-Pyongtaek. I love all the people God had brought into my life through this place. Welcome to my world.
Wacky-Tacky Day
Spirit Week at our school is our "Homecoming" game week, not that alumni actually show up because they all live in who-knows-what country now. Despite this, it is a fun week for the entire school as we have special dress codes all week.
We started the week off with Wacky-Tacky Day.
Let me introduce my classes to you. I am going to introduce you to them in the order that I see them each day.
My first class of the day is Algebra 1-2. They are a fun bunch.
Ryan chose not to be in the class picture when he found out it was optional. I went to take a picture of him by himself, when I found him literally staring at the clock waiting for the time to pass so he could leave. I could not resist the opportunity to capture this moment.
And this is my other Algebra class. These are mostly 8th graders.
I actually have an Algebra 2 class I teach between Algebra 1 and Study Hall...but we had so much to get done during class that I forgot to take their picture. You will have to meet them a little later.
Me and another teacher have 9th Grade study hall. For this reason, I always dressed to whatever theme the freshman class did. On this day, everyone was wacky-tacky...but on the rest of the week....it made a difference.
After lunch, I have a planning period and then I teach two Geometry classes back-to-back. This is my first class and my most diverse class, personality and age. I have 2 freshman, 2 Sophomores, 3 juniors, and 2 Seniors.
My next Geometry class probably has the most "Personality". We laugh a lot in class. I mean...just look at the picture.
One of the great things about teaching is how different each class is. I love all of my classes, but they each have their own distinctive personality.
I am so grateful that we have a God who loves variety. How boring life would be if we were all the same!
Trend Day: Each class was assigned a trend to dress as. We noramlly where uniforms, so it is not everyday that we have preps, gangsters, goths, punks, western, and nerdy clad individuals roaming our hallways.
Can you guess which trend we were assigned to?
6th Period Geometry
Spirit Day (wear as many school colors as possible) ,
Character Day (Dress as a fictional character),
and Gezer Day (dress how you will look in 50 years).
I am just going to post a few seletive pictures from the rest of the days. The students did not dress well for spirit day, and overall low participation for character day, then by the time we got to Gezer day...well, they went all out or just showed up to school in their uniform. But..I do have a few fun pictures to share from these days.
