Alright…the day started for Kara with church at MBC. I meet up with her after church and this is us posing for picture as we are walking to the bus stop. For those who have are familiar with Songtan…we are under the bridge that leads to the church or in our case, up the bridge.

Alright…what this picture does not capture is our mad-dash run to this bus stop to catch the Number 2 bus. As we rounded the corner at the bridge to main gate…we saw it sitting at the light…so we ran.
I told Kara that all the rain was God releasing all of His tears of joy over her in celebration of her life.

Us riding on the bus. We, or rather I, decided that we needed to get out of Songtan and go to Pyongtaek to enjoy Pizza and the ever-popular sticky pictures!

For those of you who have never been to our neck of the woods…the Number 2 bus will take you from Songtan to Pyongtaek and drop you off across the street from Pizza Hut!

Now…to let you in on some of the ways that Korea has changed the way I eat pizza!
First…Which would you choose to put on your pizza?

Notice my choice…I know look for the Tabasco sauce for my pizza…I only settle for Parmesan cheese if there is not Tabasco…try it next time you eat pizza…maybe you will be the next convert!
Oh...and if you really want to complete the Korean pizza eating experience...then eat sweet pickles. Not necessariy on the pizza, but before, after, or during.

You have love this picture of Kara!—I have a knack for photography…huh?
Anyway…the other thing that has changed about the pizza eating experience is captured in this picture…can you guess what it is?

After pizza…sticky pictures! It is down the street a tiny way from Pizza Hut. This is the outside of the store…

And the inside of the store...basically you choose some wacky hair and some props before going inside a photo booth and having some fun.

And the reults...
So these pictures were not from Kara's birthday...but I don't have those scanned and these at least give you an idea about the whole sticky picture experience...but just an idea for the end result does not even begin to capture the experience.

Unfortunately…we both really NEEDED to do some lesson planning. So we did spend a couple of hours up at the school doing work. This is me waiting for the Number 80 bus to come and whisk us away from school to the luxuries of enjoying the indoors on a rainy day!

Kara’s birthday dinner…I forgot I had the bandana on my head…and oh what a lovely tablecloth! I hope you did not miss the great amount of sarcasm contained in that statement!

After dinner, we watch one of the movies Kara’s parents had sent her for her birthday…some movie about some dog is Antarctica. We paused the movie so that Kara could blow out 25 candles after we quickly sang her Happy Birthday. I stuck her candles into her plate full of Snickerdoodles—her favorite cookie. This picture does not even begin to capture Kara’s patheticness. It took her at least five blows to get those blown out. Nicole and I finally had pity on her and blew out rest. I am a firm believer in blowing out one candle for each year that you have lived. Kara…you have a year.
Well...that is all folks. Overall we had a fun time. I hope you enjoyed celebrating Kara's 25th birthday with me.

So many of those pics reminded me of our time together. I regret we didn't get sticky pictures...but we will next time. I promise. I am feeling all nastolgic as that is all of what we did or we attempted to do...except I was a crappy sister. Sigh..miss you.
Thanks for sharing Kara's birthday with us. Birthdays are so much fun. And you are right. Everyone needs to celebrate their birthday each year and as many time as possible. But it is best we don't put a candle on my cake for every year I am old. We would need the fire department standing by if we did that.
Mommie
You can always visit again on your way back from India! You were not a totally crappy sister...just one that made it hard for us to do things like Pizza Hut and sticky pictures!
Good times...I look forward to our next Korean adventures!
Mommie,
You just wait...I will put double the candles on your cake just for laughs! Why do I like candles so much?!
