Yesterday I celebrated my 24th birthday. One of the things that sucks about having a summer birthday is that normally it is forgotten. Not that I can blame anyone, during the school year, everyone is around so its nearly impossible to have your birthday go by unnoticed...don't get me wrong. But it does suck to celebrate other people's birthdays with them only to have yours roll around and not have people to celebrate with.
This year it was looking like it was going to be repeat of other years. A sort of forgotten day. However, this was not the case. Though many of my closest friends and family were not here to celebrate my birthday, I do still have friends here. So I had a couple of friends over to my place and we ate pizza, watched a movie, played cards...oh...and we had cake and icecream and I got to blow out 24 candles (I am a firm believer in blowing out one candle for each year you have lived)! It was great fun. Sadly, I did not get a picture of the three of us...but Cherly and Stacy...you guys are fun.
My birthday was on Saturday, so I went to the House as usual where I received many more "Happy Birthday" greetings.
Not only that but the morning started of with a birthday phone call from the parents. Plus, I received birthday greetings via e-mail, my blog, and myspace! The only form of Birthday greeting that I did not receive was snail mail.
Thanks to everyone who wished me Happy Birthday...it is a blessing to be remembered.
