Craig Taylor Divers and Cynthia Ann Alves Divers
Married May 5, 1979
I believe one of the greatest things my parents have done for me besides love the Lord with all their heart...is to love each other and to stay committed to each other.
My parents got to celebrate their 29th Wedding Annversary this past weekend. They have modeled what it takes to keep a happy marriage. My sisters and I have never known what it is like to live with parents who did not love each other. They are not perfect and were not always 100% happy with each other (who is?)...but I never once wondered if my parents were going to get divorced. What a rare and precious thing that is these days.
My parents still make faces at each other and flirt. It is something I have witnessed my whole life...and still witness when I go home. And as the three of us girls have moved out of the house, I have watched my parents continue to work on their marriage in learning how to better love each other and express that love.
I really don't know what to say Daddy and Mommie...other than I love you and I thank you for your commitment to the Lord, to each other, and for training up your children in the way they should go. Thank you for being people I can look to one day when I am married.
I love you and wish you many more happy anniversaries!
